• Tiesda You (Starboard, Ep 110) characterises Axis’s system as a saddle front/tail-wing connection with a socket mast mount; says Axis’s wide saddle ‘flanges’ became a constraint as wings got thinner, prompting their Black Series fuselage.
• Klaas Voget (Duotone, Ep 73) names Axis (with Armstrong) as Duotone’s main foil competitor.
• Julien Salles (F-One, Ep 47) contrasts F-One’s foil philosophy with AXIS’s and Armstrong’s move to high-camber downwind foils, a direction F-One tried and abandoned.
